What a time to be alive! We get to experience the longest partial lunar eclipse since the 15th century. A full moon in Taurus is going to glow red in the night sky before forming a trine with Venus in Capricorn. Then as it emerges from earth’s shadow it will glide into Gemini.
A Partial Lunar Eclipse Occurs Between 1:02 AM and 7:03 AM
Early this morning, the moon in unshakeable Taurus aligns itself with both the sun in intense Scorpio and the earth. This is the first eclipse of the Taurus-Scorpio series and this season will last until October 2023.
But what does that mean? I am so glad you asked! Taurus and Scorpio both exude hedonistic energy and this eclipse can bring out our most self-indulgent desires. At this time we feel an intense need to take care of ourselves. We value physical, emotional, romantic, and fiscal security. But this doesn’t mean we’re driven by selfishness. This eclipse just blesses us with the realization that we cannot pour from empty cups. Meaning we can not take care of others without taking care of ourselves.
Self-care is our biggest priority right now. We must nurture our mind, body, and soul. Indulge in the things that make you happy, whether they be physical, creative, or philanthropic endeavors.
But self-care is not merely partaking in activities that soothe us. This eclipse will bring to light what is no longer serving us. We will be confronted, perhaps a bit sooner than we expected, with what we need to let go of. Do not think of it as a loss. Think of it as a chance to start anew.

Venus Is Trine Uranus at 2:16 AM
While all of that is going on, Venus in Capricorn forms a trine with Uranus in dedicated Taurus. Under this trine, we are open with our emotions and romantic proclivities. We yearn to make connections with people and do so easily.
When these two earth signs work together in harmony, we have an enhanced desire for earthly delights. We want amusement, new experiences, and material possessions. Our taste can be quite luxurious. There is nothing wrong with wanting the finer things in life, as long as you remember to share these experiences with others.
A Full Moon in Taurus Occurs at 4:02 AM
Just a couple of hours later, the moon in Taurus becomes full. Just as the waves ebb and flow under the full moon, so too will our tears fall under its glow.
This full moon brings an increased irritability with it. We desire peace more than anything under this moon, but we may have trouble finding it. Our anxiety is increasing and so is the likelihood of getting our feelings hurt. We have a tendency to lose our temper under this moon.
Our need for stability and security increases during this time. We may need to practice more self-care than usual. We can seek out tranquility by indulging in our creature comforts.
The Moon Moves into Gemini at 9:36 AM
Right as the eclipse ends, the moon moves into inquisitive Gemini. Under this moon, our mental faculties are sharpened. We are curious and sympathetic. We are ready to have new experiences and meet new people. This is a wonderful time to network, and meet someone who may open doors for us. We are open to new possibilities and are willing to learn and to achieve any and all opportunities.
