Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Cancerians are fascinating because they’re a goopy stew of emotion beneath their prickly outer shells. They absorb and reflect the feelings of those around them–if you get angry, they get angrier. If you’re sad, they’re even sadder. That makes arguing with this sign an exercise in ever-escalating emotions. Things can get even more heated during a breakup, so try to be as calm as possible.
Leo (July 23-August 22)
When Leos break up, they go big. As in big, public, messy displays that at least three people will film on their phones and post to social media. Breakups with Leos are basically live-action memes. They might scream. They’ll definitely cry. There may even be wailing. They want the world to know that their heart is breaking, so never, ever break up with Leo in a public place.
Virgo (August 23-September 22)
Virgo might not seem like they care about anything; their lack of outward emotion could very well be why you’re breaking up. But Virgo is the greatest grudge-holder of all time.
They are patient, calculating, and utterly ruthless if they feel like they’ve been wronged. When you end a relationship with this Zodiac sign, make sure you do so with the utmost respect. Otherwise, watch your back.
Scorpio (October 23-November 21)
Not to be overly harsh, but Scorpio is the scariest sign of the Zodiac. They react badly–and unpredictably–to betrayal. And they might have a different idea of what counts as “betrayal” than you do.
If Scorpio feels blindsided by your breakup, there’s no telling what they might do. This standoffish sign also takes a long time to let people in, and they may resent you for knowing that they secretly have a heart.
Pisces (February 19-March 20)
Oh, Pisces. This Zodiac sign is already kind of a nightmare in relationships. They tend to be clingy, cheesily romantic, and emotionally immature when it comes to love. During a breakup, they will act out the most wildly melodramatic scenes they can imagine, as if they are auditioning for a role in a soap opera.
The best course of action is not to feed into their fantasy. Be respectful, keep your distance, and wait until they run out of energy. It won’t take long.
