Uranus in Retrograde Won’t Let Us Hit the Snooze Button

I know, I know! Retrogrades can be scary. But they don’t always have to be. Do you ever feel like you’re sleepwalking through life? Just mindlessly going from task to task? Well, Uranus in retrograde is here to wake us up! This retrograde coupled with some well-balanced transits may bring more positivity to your day than you may think.

The Moon Is Trine Uranus 3:05 AM

Early this morning, the moon in determined Capricorn forms a trine with Uranus in dependable Taurus. Under this trine, we think outside of the box. Our minds are working fast but we are still giving certain tasks the care and attention they require.

When two earth signs form such a high-spirited trine, we are endowed with the ability to fulfill anything. We use our persuasion, our can-do attitude, and our newfangled ideas to achieve all that we are able to. Nobody can tell us what we can and cannot accomplish. We decide that for ourselves.

The Moon Is Sextile Neptune At 3:59 PM

This afternoon, the moon in Capricorn forms a sextile with Neptune, who is happy at home in empathetic Pisces. Under this trine our minds are active and enthusiastic. We have been sensitive to the needs and emotions of those around us, but now we are sensitive to our own needs and desires.

This earth sign and this water sign work together to let our creativity grow to its fullest potential. Earlier we used our imagination to accomplish a variety of tasks that needed to be done. Now we can use it to indulge our own artistic interests. Now is a wonderful time to work on our passion projects and fulfill ourselves spiritually and creatively.

Uranus Is in Retrograde at 5:24 PM

Around dinnertime, Uranus in Taurus turns retrograde. This retrograde will last until January 19th. When Uranus is in Taurus, we are concerned with comfort and self-preservation. But during this retrograde, we are roused out of our emotional stasis.

Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius, so it is commonly known as the planet of rebellion and revolution. When Neptune is in retrograde our eyes are opened to the truth. But when Uranus is in retrograde our minds and spirits are awake and alert. Now is the time to really examine our place in life. We must ask ourselves, “Do I really want to stay on this path? Or is there a new path I should take?” Examine and explore your options and do what is best for you.

The Moon Is Conjunct Pluto at 7:52 PM

Later, the moon in Capricorn forms a conjunction with Pluto who is also in Capricorn. Under this conjunction, it may feel like we are butting heads with everyone around us. This feeling of hostility can cause us to become depressed or temperamental.

At times like this, it can be beneficial to just take a step back and indulge in guilty pleasures. Turn your brain off and play a fun video game or watch a good comfort film. You are under no obligation to be “on” all the time.

The Sun Is Opposite Jupiter at 9:30 PM

An hour after sunset, the sun in extravagant Leo forms an opposition with Jupiter in rebellious Aquarius. Under this opposition, we may have an overabundance of pride — and no, that is not a Leo pun. This pride can open new doors for us, but it can also get us in trouble.

Leo’s willful energy may get us noticed in our personal and professional circles. But we may come off more arrogant than self-assured. Aquarius’ passion for social justice may inspire others to action. But it also may lead to conflicts with authority. The confidence and compassion brought on by these two signs can lead us to do great things, as long as we utilize a little tact and self-control.
