Everybody ends a relationship differently and behaves differently once the whole shebang is over, and that’s certainly the case for each zodiac sign. Which way is your sign most likely to handle a breakup?
Aries (March 21-April 19)
The breakup: A heated argument.
The aftermath: Impulsive rebound.
Compromise is difficult, and breakups are rarely pretty with argumentative Aries. They can even become violent. Aries impetuously goes on the rebound before they can feel any heartbreak. Their goal is to forget you, and they do rather quickly.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
The breakup: An irresolvable standoff.
The aftermath: A shopping trip.
Self-centered Taurus is argumentative, stubborn, and so inflexible that compromise is impossible. Their way of forgetting you is to go shopping, filling the hole in their heart with material goods, or redecorating so that all signs of your existence are erased.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
The breakup: A disappearing act
The aftermath: Your replacement was in the wings
Gemini is quickly bored. Evasive from the start, they avoid the confrontation of a breakup by disappearing. Being naturally quarrelsome, they know talking will only lead to an argument. Chances are your replacement was already on standby before the two of you called it quits.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
The breakup: A full-on meltdown
The aftermath: Won’t come out of the basement
By nature, Cancer is an overly-sensitive, emotional wreck. Breakups usually trigger a meltdown. Recovery is long and arduous, with Cancer usually locking themselves away from the world while they heal. Lots of ice cream in bed and binge-watching rom-coms.
Leo (July 23-August 22)
The breakup: Amicable to explosive
The aftermath: Solitude to rebound hookup
Leo is complex in relationships. Depending on their partner, a breakup can either end amicably or in an explosive argument. Likewise, depending on their feelings, Leo may need solitude to heal afterward, or they may decide their best bet is to immediately hook up with someone new.
Virgo (August 23-September 22)
The breakup: heartbreak to shouting match
The aftermath: Life reevaluation
If it was Virgo’s idea to break up, it will likely end in a shouting match where Virgo tells the other of all their failings. However, if Virgo is dumped, the blindsided rejection can cause a lengthy heartbreak. Either way, once it’s over, Virgo goes through a period of life reevaluation.
Libra (September 23-October 22)
The breakup: A failed negotiation
The aftermath: Wild escapades
Libra, the zodiac’s resident negotiator, will give a heroic effort through lengthy talks to keep the relationship intact. Once acknowledging defeat, Libra tries to escape heartbreak through indulgent shopping and wild escapades, heavy on flirting and whatever it takes to mask their misery.
Scorpio (October 23-November 21)
The breakup: Kicking them to the curb
The aftermath: Enjoying singledom and revenge
In truth, Scorpio is usually the one doing the breaking up and sending the other person packing. Woe to the person that caused the breakup through wrongdoing. Depending on the level of the offense, revenge is highly likely. Once it’s over, Scorpio takes a little time to enjoy the single life.
Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)
The breakup: Fizzling away
The aftermath: Fun and adventures
Sagittarius isn’t one to get into long-term relationships in the first place, and when they do and when they end, it’s usually a matter of things fizzling out. When it’s over, Sagittarius has no problem picking up the pieces and running out straight away looking for adventures and fun.
Capricorn (December 22-January 19)

The aftermath: It’s never really over
Capricorn has high standards and is very particular with who they engage in a relationship with. This makes it all the more monumental when things break apart. Capricorn will recall and call out every wrongdoing that ever occurred, with the mission of making the other person feel like total crap. Capricorn holds a serious grudge, so it’s never really over or forgotten.
Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

The aftermath: Movin’ on up
When Aquarius is tired of someone, they’d rather not get into a messy confrontation. They know themselves and realize kind things are not likely to come out of their mouth. Instead, they ghost the other person and vanish out of their life. Aquarius has no problem detaching and moving on immediately.
Pisces (February 19-March 20)
The breakup: The Great Escape
The aftermath: Sadness
Pisces loathes confrontation. Being intuitive, they sense the breakup coming and will do anything to avoid the awkward talk. They dodge all communication, and the end usually comes through a last message saying something like: “it’s not going to work out.” Afterward, Pisces typically falls into a long bout of sadness.
